The moles are active on Gosling Farm and Patch won't stop digging. Mrs Turbey is worried about her lawn, so Stan and Little Red Stactor take Maurice the mole man across the fields to Blackthorn Cottage, where he devises a colourful and humane way to keep the moles at bay. A grateful Mrs Turvey gives Stan an oak sapling.
