I’ve done it. My five virtues have finally accepted me, and it’s better than I could have ever imagined. Hendrik, Orion, Dante, Kaito, and Logan each fill a void inside of me that I hadn’t realized had been aching. One problem: Something is still missing, or someone. I sense another virtue coming my way, and the guys are not going to like this one. Cole is unlike any of my virtues. He’s a monster - just like me, abused, beaten, and downright vicious. My guys think I should chase him away, but if being a monster has taught me anything it’s that everyone has a heart.

“Are you feeling sorry for yourself again?” a male voice teased, filtering into the room as the Dark Mage walked right past my wards. “Go away, Hendrik,” I growled. Hendrik stepped out of the shadows as he peeled off his coat. “I could use another session,” he said, grinning as he gave the offer to spar a double-meaning. “Last time was a mistake,” I snapped as I went back to the vampire stake I was working on. I sliced my dagger over the tip, sending a tendril of wood falling to the ground. “We’re just being influenced by the demon.”

I’m a reincarnated fate witch and rightful queen of the Royal Covens. None of that is why I’m going to get out of this, though. I’m a mortal-born witch in this lifetime, which means I’m scrappy as hell. I’ll use my strengths against their pride and get the Royal Covens to turn on each other. While they’re cat-fighting it out, I’ll use the opportunity to work together with my guys and make an epic escape.

I'm not a very good witch. It's not my fault. Being born a mortal sucks, and my black cat familiar follows me around like a security blanket. All the other coven brats make fun of me. My vampires don't seem to mind. They pose as my mentors and get Aunt Sandra off my back. My initiation into the Royal Covens is only three days away. They're supposed to teach me how to hide what I really am: a reincarnation of some ancient and powerful witch.
