The Israelites are returning to Jerusalem to rebuild the Temple. Paul then goes on to encourage believers to “...take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:5). A new generation of Israelites is about to enter the Promised Land. God’s people need a reminder of God’s law and promises before they enter Canaan, as they are about to face many dangers.
