For years, Colonel Killov, the head of the KGB forces based in the post-apocalyptic United States, has taken a submissive role to President Zhabnov and his leadership over North America. Now, having survived several assassination attempts ordered by Zhabnov, Colonel Killov finally pushes his own evil gambit into action. Colonel Killov decides to put his massive attack plan against the American-based Red Army in motion and unseat Zhabnov from power, thus controlling North America and eyeing control of the Soviet Empire and subsequently the entire world.

The freefighters have fought their first major engagement in their campaign to rid America's shores of foreign invaders after 100 years of occupation. With devastating results.... Declaring it a victory, the freefighters have suffered countless losses in the end. Century City, their secret underground stronghold, is crippled by a nuclear attack and may not be salvageable. And their ultimate soldier, the Doomsday Warrior, Ted Rockson, the man who has lead the rebellion against the Soviet Empire occupation, cannot be found among the carnage and is presumed dead.

In the post-apocalyptic nightmare that is America 2089, the future of the rebellion against the world-dominating Soviet Empire has never been so bleak. The first meeting of the Free Cities to elect a Re-constitutional Congress has ended in a nuclear firestorm with the Soviets wiping out nearly all the members. The Doomsday Warrior, Ted Rockson, has barely escaped with the newly elected president. However, the unthinkable has now happened - Rockson, the man on every "Wanted" poster throughout the world, is captured by Soviet forces and taken to Moscow.

It has been 100 years since the Soviets conquered the United States and much of the world. Now the scattered Free Cities within the US are about to unite and form a new nation with one goal: to forever drive the hated Soviets from America's shores. And there's only one man who can spearhead this second War of Independence: the Doomsday Warrior, Ted Rockson. However, the insidious KGB, lead by the maniacal Colonel Killov, are planning to destroy the fledgling rebellion in one nuclear swoop by planting a spy in the midst of the historic gathering.

The year is 2089.... America and much of the world is a post-apocalyptic nightmare.... Ted Rockson and his small band of soldiers fight to rid the land of a Soviet occupational force bent on world domination. But Rockson not only has the enemy to contend with, for out of the ashes of the nuclear devastation of World War III, the Earth has become one large death zone. Mutated animals, destructive storms, and barbaric humans now roam the land. Death seems to be everywhere. Hope seems fleeting. But Rockson will not give up.

Like most families, the Jensens gather together to celebrate the holidays. This year, since half the clan is scattered across the American West, they've decided to split the difference and meet up in Tucson. Matt and Luke will be there, for sure, and maybe Ace and Chance, too. That leaves Sally, Preacher, and Smoke Jensen, who've reserved three seats on a westbound stage to make sure they don't miss out on the festivities. What could possibly go wrong?

While most folks are busy preparing for Christmas, the tightknit Jensen clan can only hope they’ll make it home. Luke Jensen is in San Antonio tracking down a dangerous outlaw. But when he finds the man leading a wholesome life — as a charity-working Hill Country pastor — Luke agrees to wait until after Christmas to bring him to justice.

Three days before Christmas, Matt Jensen is traveling the Denver and Pacific railway when an avalanche slams down onto the train, trapping it in desolate Trout Creek Pass. But it wasn’t an act of nature that caused the accident; it was a gang of outlaws attempting to rescue their leader, who is being taken to Red Cliff to be hanged. As Smoke Jensen and Duff MacCallister frantically try to make their way to the scene, Matt struggles to save the survivors, among them a young woman with a dark past, a merchant seaman turned rancher, and a senator with his very ill young daughter.

The Barfield family, Arkansas sharecroppers, are heading west with their sons Jeffrey and Todd. In far West Texas their camp is attacked by Comanche raiders and the elder Barfields are killed and scalped. The younger boy, Todd, is taken captive by the Indians. The older son, Jeffrey, manages to hide and is rescued by the militia men. Jeffrey is taken in by a home-steading family, while Todd is sold, for a rifle and gunpowder, to a Comanchero trader named January.

Gray Horse. The magnificent young Comanche warrior made strong by the medicine of the wolf, skilled at stealing horses and counting coup in the war raids of his people. Through his bravery and his wisdom, he would rally his beleaguered tribe against the tide of white settlers that swept over their land.

Wagon boss Hugh Hitchcock knows the cowboy life better than most: In 1883, if you’re a cowboy, you can’t own a cow and you are stigmatized as a drunk. Worse, you are exploited by the wealthy cattle owners who fence the range, replace traditions and trust with written rules of employment, refuse to pay a livable wage, and change things “that ought to be left alone”. The cowboys working in the Canadian River country of the Texas Panhandle decide to fight back, to do the unthinkable: Go on strike.

What happens when you mix 200-proof corn liquor with intoxicating women and two friends on opposite sides of the law? Big trouble. Matt and Sam never could refuse a damsel in distress, so a whole coach load of lovelies, lead by the fetching Charity McKenzie, seems like a gift from heaven. But if it looks too good to be true, it usually is — and in short order the blood will start to flow. Matt and Sam rush in anyway and faster than you can say “soiled doves,” they’re up to their necks in trouble.

Snake Creek is a shabby little Texas town ruled by a mean-tempered outlaw who fancies himself a king — King Petty. He and his gang do what they want, when they want, and right now what Petty wants is the pretty wife of a farmer he just shot in cold blood. But Sam Two Wolves just can't stand by and watch as this King Petty drags the widow down the street and before long he and Matt find themselves in the fight of their lives. It's a fight they never meant to start, but they sure as hell are going to finish it.

Trigger-happy outlaws are giving the Texas Rangers a lot more trouble lately than they can handle, leaving most of Texas in a heap of trouble.
