Matt and many of his people are alive, and they've found a new ally, more or less, but the damage done to the dungeon and its future are beyond measure. Time and great effort are needed to repair the cracks, to seal the warping and to rebuild, but the world after the fall isn't somewhere anyone can afford to wait around in. Matt and his people must push on, they must grow, they have to rise up if they are to have any chance of surviving.

Warfare below the streets, backstabbing, and brutality. Kabutt is out. Out of the army, out of patience, and out of control. He's found a home, people to fight for, and once again, the city seems determined to screw that up for him. He's got backstabbing elves trying to rip him off, corpos forcing him and his team into unsanctioned deathmatches for live broadcasts, and of course, the usual skulduggery, not to mention more goddamn goblins.

Blood, chrome, and betrayal. Sergeant Harry Kabutt has seen better days. He's been shot down, blown up, and tossed to the wayside by the corporations, left to rot in a ratty apartment in gang territory. His own limbs? Shredded, cut away, and left to rot on a mountainside. The replacement mods?...

Ajax is one of Earth’s most elite, a Paladin pilot, and trusted to fly the most advanced starfighters humanity ever produced. His carrier and the rest of the fleet have fallen back, the recent damage from the elven betrayal making it impossible to stay in the fight. He knows they’ll return, and they’ll treat this world to the same kind of plasma bombardment that the elves had inflicted on Mother Earth. The real problem for Ajax, though, is that he’s parachuting down onto it now, his arm broken.

Es geht aufwärts für Jax–mehr oder weniger. Er hat ein cooles Mädel getroffen (die ein Irrlicht ist), ein paar neue Freunde kennengelernt (die Zwerge und Katzenmenschen und Elfen und alles Mögliche sind) und einen Krieg angezettelt… (ups!) Das Letzte war zugegeben vielleicht nicht die beste Idee, die ihm je gekommen ist, aber der Kerl war ein Arsch und er hatte es verdient… Die Sache ist, man sagt ‚Trautes Heim, Glück allein‘, und Jax’ Zuhause ist ein Trümmerhaufen… dieser Ort wird nicht dazu beitragen, sein neues Volk zu verteidigen, wenn er ihn nicht in Ordnung bringt, und zwar schnell!

Das Zentrum der Realitäten liegt fernab unserer eigenen Welt und birgt alle Arten von Magiespektren. Von wunderschön bis schrecklich, alles wurde durch den Ewigen Imperator und seine unsterblichen Nachkommen in einem zerbrechlichen Gleichgewicht gehalten.
