The alien with an attitude is BACK! And he's not the only one. Kracion, the Mad Aris, is also back, and working with the allies to stop the Klin from destroying the universe. As the Klin build and deploy thousands of trans-dimensional starships, they refuse to accept the danger the space engines represent. Kracion has spent years repairing the damage to the space/time continuum caused by these drives, and now the Klin are literally tearing the fabric of space apart even worse than before.

After the defeat of the evil Antaere in the first REV series, Zac and his super warriors carry on, as the hammer used against a myriad of obstinate races. The Union of Affiliated Systems (Earth's new stellar empire) is determined to expand far beyond the Grid, using the REVs as the means of convincing reluctant species to join. After all, its for their own good. Membership in the UAS will benefit all. So what if a little blood has to be spilled in the meantime? Zac didn't want command of the REV force in the first place, and now he's put in an impossible situation.

When Alan Ashe died and his surviving brain was implanted into a combat cyborg, he didn't think much about it. After all, he'd worked with cyborgs for years and knew how they operated. As the evil Klin continue their rampage across the galaxy, Adam enlists the help of mutants Panur and Lila to find a solution to the Klin problem. But time is running out. The deadly power of the Klin is growing exponentially with each passing day. And add to that the sniveling politicians from the Expansion and the Union who fear Adam's daughter Lila more than they do the Klin. Now Adam is up against enemies on both sides of the conflict, leaving it up to him and his team to save the galaxy—again. But this time he has some major brain-power on his side.

Even so, will it be enough to defeat the Klin, who have already conquered three-quarters of the galaxy and are only months away from destroying Earth? With the help of the mutants, Panur and Lila, Adam and his team are the last hope for the galaxy. Can the genius of the mutants and the "attitude" of Adam Cain save the day? Now they launch a multi-prong attack to stop the Klin, with only minutes to spare before Armageddon.

Adam and his crew are faced with the ultimate challenge: to save the Milky Way Galaxy from the Nuorean invaders. This time their backup will be two-and-a-half MILLION light-years away. The Scorched Earth in the title doesn't refer to the Human's homeworld. Rather it describes the path of death and destruction that Adam Cain burns on his way from Earth to the planet Juir as he seeks revenge for the killing of one of his closest friends. But there's more. Sherri and Arieel have been taken prisoner by the Juirean leader, with a date for their execution already set. The aliens may have thought Adam was dangerous before, but they ain't seen nothing yet.

The alien with an attitude is back! But for how long? After the tragic events at the end of Secondary Protocol, the truth is finally revealed to Adam and his friends. Now, he's living on borrowed time as his resurrected body is rapidly deteriorating. To save Adam, the mutants—Panur and Lila—must take him to the Sol-Kor universe. But in doing so, they awaken the wrath of Queen J'nae, who will use all her resources to destroy Panur—along with any hope of Adam surviving. And to add insult to injury, the New Klin from Kracion's universe have invaded the Milky Way.
