Through personal experience as a caregiver to my parents, I gained first-hand knowledge of the responsibilities family caregivers carry on their shoulders. It became important for me to find out what other family caregivers say they need to help sustain their spirit during the journey of caring for someone they love. Busch couldn’t see that she was a victim of trauma until one fateful day, on a crowded highway, when she had a moment of realization that would change the trajectory of her life.

This book is an event that proves beyond any shadow of a doubt for me that God is indeed alive and well and living within each of us. Every day, we are given a choice, before our feet hit the floor in the morning, to plug into our awareness of God's Spirit and goodness. I think we all have days when we lose sight of that gift of Spirit by the pressing elements that life throws at us. When you enter or are pulled into His realm of love and grace, the impossible happens--unconditional love.

Uncertainty breeds fear, and we certainly live in uncertain times. Look around you--threats of violence and death, financial instability, natural disasters, pandemics, cancel culture, and war headline every news story and dominate nearly every conversation. The devil would have you trembling at all you could lose. But the child of God is not called to live in fear: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV).

Not all daughters are their daddy's little girl. Too many times, their fathers are absent from their lives or nonexistent. Some may have been abusive. Through scriptures, the author goes into detail on how much the Father loves his children. He can bring peace and comfort and an incredible love that can't be matched to any other love. We are all imperfect daughters with imperfect earthly fathers.
