Tye Watkins is a scout for Fort Clark, Texas, who uses his skills to work his way through one adventure after another. Along the trails certain events occur that have Tye thinking that Adam isn't the cold-hearted killer he originally made him out to be.

The Tye Wakins Series of books attempt to portray this danger. The stories center on Tye, who is Chief of Scouts at Clark in 1868. He is continually putting himself at risk trying to protect the homesteaders living in the area as well as keeping the troops out of harm's way.
