Why did an ancient, magical tattoo choose me to save all magic and the magical world?

I didn’t even believe in magic until I stumbled across a weird party where that tattoo latched onto me like a tick and made me the Prime Mage.

Who knew that was a thing?

Now I must save magic because you know that’s what Prime Mages do–refill the Source of magic every few centuries so magical peeps won’t die. But this time, the Source is draining faster than ever, magical beings are vanishing, and someone keeps trying to kill me. And unbelievably, Merlin is somehow involved. But whether he’s alive or dead, or even on my side, no one will tell me.

Fun times, right?

At least the Dragon Queen is my ally.

Then, I learn my best friends, Ian and Grey, are mages, too, and my little brother, Cole, is the rarest mage of all. He means everything to me. I can’t, I won’t, lose him or my friends. So, I need to find this Source, not even knowing what it looks like, and refill it like it was a water bottle, without one single clue how.

Let’s not forget the peeps who want the Arcana for themselves. There’s only one way to get the Arcana from me.
