Come Join the Circle

When trauma nurse Beatrice Gomez can no longer ignore the devastating consequences of cartel violence flowing through her El Paso emergency room, she is forced to confront a question she has spent years avoiding: What happens when the systems meant to protect the innocent are no longer enough?

The answer comes in the form of The Circle, an underground network of women who have stopped waiting for justice to arrive.

Recruited for her medical expertise, fighting skills, and ability to remain steady under pressure, Beatrice enters a world operating beyond courtrooms, borders, and conventional rules. What begins as an effort to protect vulnerable girls in El Paso and Juárez soon exposes something far larger: a trafficking network whose reach extends across borders, protected by money, influence, corruption, and the silence of those who benefit from looking away.

As Beatrice is drawn deeper into The Circle, the boundaries she once trusted begin to disappear. Saving lives is no longer confined to the hospital, and justice no longer has a single definition. The women beside her are willing to go where the law cannot, using intelligence, technology, training, and their collective strength against predators who have spent years believing themselves untouchable.

But every step into the shadows carries a cost.

Beatrice must decide how far she is willing to go, what lines she is prepared to cross, and whether stopping those who destroy innocent lives can justify becoming someone she never imagined she could be.

Reckoning: The First Strike is a suspense thriller about moral courage, human trafficking, justice, and the power of women who refuse to remain silent. The first novel in the Come Join the Circle series, it stands alone while opening the door to a larger story.
