Ghost Cycle

Owen Marlow is a former FBI behavioral consultant working cases on a contracted basis out of Olympia, Washington. He has no badge and no institutional protection. He keeps a notebook recording every case he has gotten wrong. There are twenty-three entries. The most significant is from Portland, seven years ago, when he wrote a word he has not written since.

Three victims in the Seattle metro area. A staging detail no one has identified. A fifteen-year-old vote on a residential care facility that served non-verbal patients. Marlow reads the case correctly and closes it. The arrest is clean. The profile holds.

Portland has two more victims. The same compound. A different message. A different scope.

The First Pattern is the first book in the Ghost Cycle, a four-book series with a single long-game antagonist whose identity is revealed across the arc. Each book is a complete case. The series is designed for audio.
