The Bufflock

The Bufflock of Valdris is a character driven fantasy series blending humor, heart, and high stakes magic. When first year warlock Chris Locke accidentally enrolls in the wrong class, he discovers a strength the Academy has never seen—and a destiny he never asked for. Guided by Skarreth, an ancient sentient blade, and joined by two formidable horned companions, Chris becomes an unlikely focal point in the rising conflict between the mortal realm and the awakening forces of the Supreme Ashen.

Chris trains harder than ever, supported by Nara's meticulous guidance and the unwavering loyalty of Maximus and Brutus, the goatmen he accidentally summoned but who have become his shield line and family. Instructor Dray arrives as a new, formidable mentor, secretly tied to the ancient Solven Order and fully aware of the prophecy's implications. A letter from Aldric Vane draws the group to Calisto, where they discover a centuries old threshold scar beneath the city—a "wound" the Ashen Below is trying to force open.
