The Epic Warriors of Westerness

Six hundred years in the future, humanity has learned to cross the stars by entering Two-Space — also called Flatland — a vast two-dimensional realm where sentient wooden warships sail beneath canvas, and advanced technology cannot survive.

• There, humans discover a galaxy already filled with other peoples: the elven Sylvans, who flourish in the vast forests of low-gravity worlds; the dwarven Dwadelf, who thrive deep in the mines of high-gravity planets; and other, far stranger alien races.

• Against this stellar backdrop, Lt. Thomas Melville’s ship is mortally wounded in a cowardly surprise attack. With his captain dead and his crew shattered, Melville must capture a feral, sentient enemy ship — then fight his way across the galaxy to warn Westerness of a vast invading armada.
