MIA. MILES.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) was a reclusive poet whose only friendships were carried out in correspondence. Here, the poems are presented in chronological order in their original form, unaltered by editorial revision, in one volume. It offers a wide-angle view of Dickinson's poetic development, from the clunky rhyme schemes of her youth, through valentines she wrote in the early 1850s, to the gloomy, hell-obsessed writings of her last years.

Few of Emily Dickinson’s poems were published in her lifetime. Her posthumous fame is largely due to the efforts of her editors and supporters Thomas W. Higginson and Mabel Loomis Todd. In the foreword to this second collection, published in 1891, Mabel Loomis Todd wrote: “The eagerness with...

Everything I dared dream of for my life is scorched to ash when I'm forced to marry our enemy: the icy dragon king of Andrathya. My father believes marriage can bridge the gap between us and the beasts we once considered allies. We once held soul bonds with those very dragons before a curse shattered the world we had known for centuries, leaving war imminent on the horizon. I think him a fool. I'd rather die with a sword in my hand than on my knees begging for mercy.
