This new translation focuses on the goal of returning to the essential light of Being- something achieved ironically by doing nothing. In this translation, the translator wanted to see the book through the eyes of the original author(s), avoiding much of the philosophical, psychological and religious baggage of the Western mindset over the past century injected into most translations.

The heaven and earth energies never cease to circulate, but a lot of what we see is artificial. We are able to harmonise yin and yang to modulate nature so that in their own time clouds will gather, rain will fall, plants will flourish and rivers and mountains will flow smoothly.
