I believe the Holy Spirit inspired Dr. Frank Buchman, a minister, to bring hope to the addicted and remind us that the age of miracles is back through Jesus Christ. This is Step 8 (asking for forgiveness).

Before it became Alcoholics Anonymous, Dr. Frank Buchman, a minister, saw that his anger and resentments blocked him from God's plan for his life. He stopped taking a paycheck and followed Jesus Christ's teachings to “make disciples all over the world”. He did just that and made such a transformative impact that even Hitler's evil forces paid attention.

The Germans decreed that the Oxford Group was part of the British Intelligence Service and should be harshly suppressed.
