Fast action with a little romance thrown in. Twist and turns with a surprise ending. The good guys should win. This is a fast listen with entertaining characters. You'll love the main hero and his lady or should I say, ladies. The scene is southern Alabama and money attracts bad guys like honey attracts bees. A good suspense with believable people. This is the first book of the series and you'll want to listen to all of them.

Jacobs, his detective stories with Conan Doyle, his politico-science fiction with H. G. Wells, and his supernatural stories with Algernon Blackwood. In his stories of detection, Bramah hit on the idea of a blind detective, Max Carrados, whose triumphs are all the more amazing because of his disability.
