Moving beyond the usual interpretations of this classic Chinese text - that of using it as an indicator of what to do next or attempting to predict the future - Osho is using the Tao Te Ching as Lao Tzu intended: to ignite the flame of individual awareness and insight. His commentaries on these seven verses burn through every idea we may hold about ourselves until we can see with the same crystal-clear light as Lao Tzu.

This series of talks is on one of the most esoteric treatises in the world. It will show you the way to become more than the body and the way to bloom - how not to remain a seed but to become a golden flower. What, in India, they call the one thousand-petalled lotus, in China they call the golden flower. It is a symbol that represents perfection, totality. Moreover, the flower represents the actualization of the potential - the beauty, the grandeur, the splendor of being.

This life is a gift from existence, to be lived and enjoyed. But with the seemingly impossible and conflicting demands of society, morality, and culture, people struggle with feelings of unfulfilled potential, frustration, and guilt rather than living full lives. The world of tantra has no division between higher and lower. The simple, ordinary things of life are transformed into great things when we enter into them totally - be it car fixing, floor cleaning or lovemaking. Osho shows how, by living this vision, new heights of consciousness and freedom are realized.

The message of Tantra endorses Osho's understanding that only through total acceptance of ourselves can we grow. Osho speaks on Tantra meditation techniques (let go and surrender), and tantric love and spirituality in sex. Here the Tantra message - don't live a repressed life, otherwise you don't live at all - is made accessible and understandable to modern man, who will learn to live a life of expression, creativity, and joy.

Lately hypnosis is being used in therapy with a much more positive connotation. Osho puts hypnosis in a different context, describing it as an art, and explains, in this talk mixed with his well-known humor, how hypnosis can benefit all of us. "The World Is on Fire" is the title of the first chapter in this new fifth volume of The Dhammapada, Osho’s contemporary presentation of the sayings of Buddha. What does Buddha mean by fire? He means anguish, anxiety, despair, misery; that's what Buddha means by fire. It is a symbol. Everybody is on fire because everybody is divided, split, schizophrenic. Everybody is on fire because there is great anxiety in the world, the anxiety of: “Am I going to make it this time or not?” Does this sound familiar to you?

The qualities of a seeker of truth are the subject question of this talk by Osho. "Every child is born with an innate search for truth. It is not something learned or adopted later on in life. Truth simply means, 'I am, but I do not know who I am.' And the question is natural - 'I must know the reality of my being. It is not a curiosity.'"

There is a famous Zen story about a disciple, Riko, who once asked his master, Nansen, to explain to him the old Zen koan of the goose in the bottle. Namely, if a man puts a gosling into a bottle and feeds the gosling through the bottle's neck until it grows and becomes a goose - and then there is simply no more room inside the bottle - how can the man get it out without killing the goose or breaking the bottle? In response, Nansen shouts, "Riko!" and gives a great clap with his hands.

Taoism is a Chinese philosophy based on the writings of the Chinese mystic Lao Tzu. There are many sacred writings and different teachers of Taoism. Taoists focus on living a simple and balanced life in harmony with nature. This is one of the most important principles in Taoism. This series of talks by Osho is based on a famous work The Classic of Purity by the Taoist mystic Ko Hsuan.

In Tantric Transformation, we are introduced to the sacred and ancient tradition of tantra by a contemporary tantric master Osho.
