Joining us in the Audible Studios to talk about her narration of Mary Elizabeth Braddon’s The Christmas Hirelings is BAFTA Award-winning British actress Jennifer Saunders. Appearing on our screens since the '80s, Jennifer has written numerous scripts for film, television and stage as well as appearing in many of them. Known for her starring roles in Absolutely Fabulous and French and Saunders, Jennifer Saunders has had an incredible career to date.

Thompson has previously worked on screen adaptations of Austen’s novels, including writing the screenplay of Sense and Sensibility, for which she won an Academy Award for the Best Adapted Screenplay. The film is still considered one of the all-time best screen adaptations of a Jane Austen novel and inspired the resurgence of Austen adaptations. Isabella Inchbald is a newcomer in comparison but very well versed in voice work, winning the prestigious BBC Carleton Hobbs Award 2017, and is perfect for our heroine, Emma Woodhouse.

Stephen Fry joins Robin Morgan in the Audible Studios to discuss his recording of Sherlock Holmes: The Definitive Collection. From his childhood days as a member of the Sherlock Holmes Society to his performance as Mycroft Holmes, Stephen shares anecdotes relating to his lifelong passion for Sherlock Holmes. He also discusses his experience recording the Harry Potter audiobooks, his own penchant for audiobooks, and his plans for the future.

Joining us at Audible Studios is the author of the Sunday Times best-selling debut novel The Trouble with Goats and Sheep, Joanna Cannon. She has recently released Breaking and Mending, a memoir of her life as a junior doctor. Cannon walks us through the wards, from attending her first postmortem to sitting beside a patient as they passed away. Joining us at Audible Studios is household name thanks to Channel 4's Gogglebox, June Bernicoff. June, alongside her husband, Leon, joined Gogglebox from its very first season in 2013, until 2017. Unfortunately, after a short illness and complications, Leon passed away just before Christmas in 2017. After his passing, June decided that she couldn't return to Gogglebox alone. She appeared on the show as a partnership: Leon and June. She couldn't face appearing as just June. Instead, she took the opportunity to tell the story of Leon and June.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Tom Bale (the pseudonym of David Harrison), author of titles such as One Dark Night and Skin and Bones. His latest title, The Stone Song, ventures into a brand-new genre for him. Harrison, born near Brighton, has worked in retail, in a factory, as a claims handler for an insurance company and as a househusband, but his ultimate goal throughout life was to become an author. We spoke to David Harrison about The Stone Song, his determination to become a writer and his life as an author.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Damian Barr, British writer, columnist and playwright, who released his novel, You Will Be Safe Here, in 2019. Barr was born in Scotland and attended Lancaster University. Barr's first article ran in The Guardian in 1996, and since then he has written for titles such as The Sunday Times and Big Issue. Barr's first book was published in 2006 and was the first book to focus on the quarter-life crisis in the UK, titled Get It Together: How to Survive Your Quarterlife Crisis.

Lupton studied literature at Cambridge University, graduating in 1986. After graduating, she wrote for Literary Reviews and was invited to join the Royal Court Theatre. During this time, Lupton won a television play competition and earned herself a job as a screenwriter. While her husband, a doctor, was working all hours, Lupton decided that as an author she could write around her kids being at school. So, after much work, her first novel, Sister, was published. We chatted to Rosamund Lupton about her career as a writer and author and how she creates such thrilling reads.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Heather Morris, an author whose debut novel, The Tattooist of Auschwitz, was a huge success. Morris grew up in New Zealand and has split her adult life between there and Australia. Morris worked in the Social Work Department at Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne from 1995-2017. During this time, Morris decided to pursue her love of storytelling and enrolled in a professional scriptwriting course. In 2003, her life and career path changed. She was introduced to Lale Sokolov, upon whose story she based The Tattooist of Auschwitz.

Whilst working as a social work administrator, Heather Morris studied and wrote screenplays. After meeting an elderly man called Lale Sokolov, Heather used his story as inspiration for a screenplay, which has now been published as a novel, The Tattooist of Auschwitz. Heather Morris talks to us about her book, the man who inspired it and what we can expect from her next.

Matt is well known for Little Britain and Come Fly with Me but has many more strings to his bow - adding the narration of Charles’ Dickens epic Great Expectations to his achievements, along with performing Fagin in the audio drama Dodge and Twist.
