Julienne has her ideal job as an event planner at a prestigious resort. During a luncheon event she coordinated, a renowned celebrity pastor is killed next to the buffet. All eyes turn to her as the suspect. If she wants to stay out of jail or even keep her job, Julienne needs all the help she can get to solve the crime. She has her work cut out for her with a vengeful high school rival (now reporter), the public demanding she be fired, plus family who knows what's best for her, and a boyfriend who doesn't understand her.

It all began when a dying man with an arrow in his chest grabs her ankle. During a heat wave at a Santa Fe resort, Julienne has the resort owner pressuring her to solve the murder. The victim is a high-profile business man who made enemies rather than friends, leaving Julienne with a roster of suspects. She was supposed to be training the staff and spending quality time with Mason rather than investigating a murder. The heat turns up when an old girlfriend of Mason's checks in and is determined to get back together.

Julienne needs only three things: successfully pull off a last-minute wedding relocated to her resort, work out things with her stubborn ex- boyfriend, and solve the murder of a private investigator. The wedding she can handle, but it comes with a flirtatious brother-of-the-bride who manages to give Mason the idea she has moved on. The dead PI was playing with fire before he was poisoned, leaving a myriad of suspects. Two of those suspects are part of a scandal waiting to explode.

What should be an enjoyable getaway attending workshops by day and shopping and enjoying the resort by night comes to a screeching halt when a loud-mouthed guest is murdered as the roads and town shut down for an epic blizzard. Will Julienne put the scant clues together and unveil the culprit before a murderer gets away?
