This book is a guide to walking the downtown streets of Yangon. Here are the stories of the streets and the people that live in them. This book is also about the love of walking, of discovering the rhythms, streetscapes, and hidden treasures of individual streets. Yangon is a tough city, full of hardworking, pragmatic, and generous people.

I have described 35 of my favorite colonial buildings in Yangon (formerly Rangoon) and placed them in their historical context. Each one of them has a fascinating story to tell and is best understood and appreciated as a milestone in the history of Rangoon. The audiobook has two parts. Part one is the history of Rangoon, and part 2 is the buildings.

It is with great pleasure that we are able to retell the stories, first published as Forty Delicious Years, of 40 varied travelers who have Murni and Murni's Warung in common. We initially compiled these recollections in 2014 on the 40th anniversary of Murni's opening of Murni's Warung in Ubud, Bali, the first international-style restaurant in Ubud. We have renamed this volume So Many Delicious Years and Murni has added a number of recipes. We are pleased to mention that Forty Delicious Years won the prestigious Gourmand Award in 2019.
