Today’s natural disasters kill thousands of people in a matter of hours and days and we ask WHY? What made Job special then and now was the ability to stand nobly firm when tragedy surrounded him and to question the silence of God.

This analysis of Exodus and the Passover meal gives the listener a deeper appreciation of the Hebrew Scriptures as capturing the mystery of God interacting with humanity. The blessing of the cups, the unleavened bread, the telling of the Exodus story and the singing of the Hallel Psalms, all formed the basis for the meal that Jesus shared with his disciples.

This presentation brings Isaiah’s poetry and power alive, explains the social and historical contexts, and clarifies the distinct differences between the three Isaiah sections: Is. 1-23 - The Immanuel Prophecy; Is. 24-39 - The Assyrian assault on Jerusalem; Is. 40-55 - The hopes for deliverance; Is. 56-66 - A new Jerusalem.
