A Prayer of William Penn includes a reading of the eponymous prayer followed by beautiful piano music based on an original composition of Frederic Chopin. The piano composition includes Nocturne in C Minor, Op. 48 No. 1 - Lento. It is an example of progressive music in the classical repertoire of Chopin's nocturne collection. This composition intensifies not through ornamentation but through a new textural background.

No Cross, No Crown is a soul-searching indictment of half-hearted hypocritical Christianity written by William Penn, a fearless Christian who braved the King and the Church of England in his quest to follow the teachings of Christ. First published in 1682, this new edition is an entirely new translation of William Penn’s 2nd edition into modern English and clear syntax. Penn’s meaning is preserved, and his original words are left untouched whenever possible; but the result is far clearer and more accessible to the modern Christian than ever before.

William Penn acquired a large section of American land in a debt settlement and transformed it into a thriving colony. He wrote this tract (and others) to recruit British colonists to Pennsylvania. In it, he praises the quality of the weather, the abundance of agricultural opportunities, and their good relations with the native people. His persuasive words capture a sense of “America the beautiful” that drove thousands to seek a new life in the land of opportunity.

William Penn was a very early Quaker in England. He knew George Fox (the founder of Quakerism) and was with the movement from the beginning.
