Empathy is something we all feel at one time or another in our lives. It is a necessary human experience and the ability to have a compassionate sense of feeling for another person. You may not have considered yourself an empath before, because our culture hasn't considered it for a long time. It's a valid diagnosis for a person and empaths often end up being accused of being overly sensitive, sometimes sick or depressed, anti-social, and reclusive. The way I would like to explain it, an empath is a person who feels everything around them. This can also expand to people far away that they may be connected to in life. Empaths are susceptible to the “vibrations” or “frequencies” of others around them. An easy way to explain this is, perhaps, you have known someone in your life who seem always to know when something is wrong.
