Drum-Taps is a collection of poetry written by Walt Whitman during the American Civil War and first published in 1865. Drum-Taps contains poems that bear witness to the violence of war.

Pegasus, The Winged Horse is Nathaniel Hawthorne's retelling of the Greek myth of Pegasus and Bellerophon, who wanted to fly with Pegasus to Olympus, the home of the gods. Bellerophon fell back to earth, but the winged horse reached Olympus. Pegasus was then appointed as a transporter of thunderbolts for Zeus.
