The Devil Bat is a 1940 black-and-white American horror film written by John Thomas Neville, and directed by Jean Yarborough. The film stars Bela Lugosi along with Suzanne Kaaren, Guy Usher, Yolande Mallott, Dave O'Brien, and Donald Kerr. The storyline concerns Dr. Paul Carruthers (played by Bela Lugosi), a chemist and physician in the small town of Heathville, who seeks revenge for withheld profits from the company he works for, by developing ordinary bats into a massive size, and training them to be attracted to a new aftershave Carruthers distributes to his enemies as a "test" product.

Based on a classic French horror story, The Thirsty Death was part of a radio series from the 1940s called Mystery House. The opening each week would immediately rivet your attention with the words, "This is Bela Lugosi, welcoming you to Mystery House." The Thirsty Death stars Bela Lugosi, John Carradine, Lureen Tuttle, and Ken Carpenter.
