It’s 1861 and Searcy County, Arkansas, is divided by the Civil War. One man, David Crockett Ruff, has some hard choices. The godson of David Crockett and cousin to the famous cattle driver Charles Goodnight, he wants to fight. But how can he? His state sides with slavery, yet joining the Union means fighting against neighbors, friends, and family. So he chooses peace. When state officials discover he won’t fight, they send out the militia to arrest him and his fellow Peace Society members.

It was a beautiful spring day in 1836, and Texas had just won its independence from Mexico. Across the wild frontier, Texans—including the Parker family—were celebrating in grand fashion. The Parkers had traveled 1,000 miles from Illinois to Central Texas, quickly building a strong fort to protect themselves from the feared Comanche. Yet, on this day, for some reason, they did the unthinkable and left the main gate wide open.

The Claxton Lore and Apparition Warehouse is located on a remote private property in the deep swamps of Louisiana, and overseen by a robot designed by Mr. Claxton, called CLAW. The warehouse is filled with a maze of crates labeled with things like The Beast, Mr. Mason’s Jars, Snap, The Atomic Ants, which are filled with the things of legend, and it is CLAW’s job to make sure the objects don’t get out. But CLAW is a curious robot, and what lay inside these crates just may make their way out and haunt the imaginations of listeners everywhere.
