Two men vie for Amanda. One wanted the beautiful, fiery Amanda for his bride, the other for wealth and pleasure. Traveling to California, Amanda's family dies of cholera. Nostalgia leads her to buying the old Victorian house where they had lived briefly and had been very happy. But Linda’s desire to find healing is disrupted by a singing spirit, determined to draw her back into the past.
