The original edition of this book was written as a diary in poetry during the author’s personal journey through clinical depression. It carries his unique emotions and feelings experienced as a psychologist going through intensive therapy. However, this second edition is not just a book of poetry. It combines the feelings expressed in poetry with the cultivated prose of a writer and psychologist looking back at his days of depression. It then embarks on his twenty-five-year post depression journey that opened the door to a new life filled with the joys of just being alive.

This is a book about the art of embracing sadness rather than hiding from it. As we embrace sadness, it releases the dam of compassion for ourselves and for others. It allows us to love ourselves and love life again. Once we digest the substance behind the sadness, we can grow again in wisdom, We can joyfully accept who we are and the life we have created. The only way we can truly embrace sadness is through our feelings. I have chosen to express these feelings through poetry.
