Humans were running out of time. Earth was no longer a place where they could survive. Earth's leaders started a bold plan sending a spaceship named Deep Space One to a possible new home for the surviving humans. While they waited for a message that the target planet was suitable, all of Earth’s resources were committed to building a huge fleet of transports to take them to their new home.

Deep Space One was sent on a one-way mission to save the people of Earth. Their mission was to find a new home for the survivors of a dying planet. They trusted each other and in the importance of their mission. What they found out en route was not expected, and the information they learned changed everything for them and the people they left behind.

After 15 years, the intelligent computer Julius returns. Earth’s survivors have learned to live with their celestial neighbors. Julius has worked to gain enough resources to end all threats to his existence: Joan and Tom Herl, SiMPOC, and the remaining humans.

Over 1,600 years after leaving an Earth made hostile by pollution, humanity developed faster-than-light travel and wanted to go home. The first ship enters Earth’s orbit and finds a pristine planet welcoming them, but they also find something else living there. Their first alien contact surprises them. Generations of humans were told of Earth’s beauty, and they found an intelligent race of artificial beings living on what they thought was their home.

Fermi was one of the original designers of the Atomic Bomb during the Second World War. He asked the question, “Where is everybody?” referencing the fact that if the Universe is vast, and it has so many habitable planets, then why we haven’t seen evidence of intelligent life. If they’re out there, we should have seen some indication. Six teenagers from different parts of the world are taken on a journey by an omnipotent being name AllOne.

Earth has survived an alien virus in this post-apocalyptic story. The alien virus was used to cleanse the planet before harvesting, and the surviving humans were given thousands of spaceships and robots as war reparations. The few survivors must adapt to survive.
