Spain has long had a tradition for wonderful stories - of bold knights and beautiful princesses; of castles in the clouds; magical kings and mystical Moors. For centuries the great majority of the Spanish people could neither read nor write. So these stories, so well-worn in the telling, have become full of the native wit, humanity and humour of ordinary men and women.

Here is a collection of some of the best-loved Christmas stories from around the world, accompanied by the magical singing of the Cardigan Choir school.

This is not so much a talking book as a dramatised reading of Andersen's best-loved stories. Performed by outstanding children's entertainers Kate Gielgud, Sorel Johnson and David Jarvis they are supported by wonderfully atmospheric sound effects and music by Rory Macfarlane.
