Loving dogs and helping people are two of the pillars in Search and Rescue Dog Trainer and amateur sleuth, Eve Foster’s life, so when a friend, Lucas, comes to her last fall training session with an adorable puppy, her heart melts. Lucas wants to train the pup for search and rescue work and Eve promises to help with his training.

It’s early December and everyone in Granite, Michigan is beginning to get into the holiday spirit, but an early morning call from Sheriff Larson puts a damper in dog trainer and amateur sleuth, Eve’s, mood. They need her to bring Atlas’ to recover a body that was buried somewhere along the Lake Superior coast before it’s washed away by impending winter storms.

The week before Christmas marks a year since dog trainer and amateur sleuth, Eve, and her boyfriend Aidan, shared their first kiss. They’ve made plans to celebrate, but an unexpected visit from Eve’s adopted mother throws their plans into chaos.

It’s the dead of winter, and it isn’t just the weather that can be chilling. When a visiting cross-country skier goes missing right before a snowstorm hits, dog trainer and amateur sleuth, Eve, and her beloved German Shepherd, Willow, are called out to find him.

Once everything is packed up, Tiana hires movers to move everything the short distance between her apartment and their new house… but the movers never arrive at the house.

This investigation goes from just important…to personal.

She’s also very much looking forward to conducting her own dog training course and is busier than ever…so busy in fact, that at first she doesn’t notice some of her friends acting oddly. Putting that particular mystery on the back burner, she focuses on preparing for her first dog training class, in which her furbabies, Atlas and Willow, will be the stars of the show.

She’s engaged, Willow is turning into a great therapy dog, and Atlas is really coming into his own. Life seems nearly perfect… until tragedy strikes. A friendly woman who runs the local garden club, is murdered, and Tiana and Levi are prime suspects, along with everyone else who was involved with the garden club.

Dog trainer and amateur sleuth, Eve, is thrilled that she and Aidan are beginning to plan their wedding, but she never would have guessed that looking at venues and tasting cakes could be so stressful. With less than a year to go, time isn’t on their side, and in the midst of her planning, Eve needs to meet with her landlord to let him know she won’t be renewing her lease.

Their visit is going well until it’s interrupted by a terrible discovery. The new director of the nursing home has been found murdered. The victim was a friend of Eve’s boss, who was distraught when she heard the terrifying news. Eve decides to do some digging in her spare time and learns that the woman had quite a few potential enemies, but with her boss’s help, she manages to narrow the suspect list down.
