D.H. Lawrence tells the story of Constance Reid, also known as Lady Chatterley, who is married to Sir Clifford Chatterley, an aristocrat who becomes paralyzed from the waist down during World War I. Their marriage suffers due to Sir Clifford's disability and his obsession with his writing and intellectual pursuits. Feeling neglected and emotionally isolated, Lady Chatterley begins an affair with the gamekeeper, Oliver Mellors.
