Will has heard that there are herds of wild horses and some unbranded cattle along the Canadian river. There are also rumors that several people have disappeared from this area. People in the area say some devil-worshipers are killing people and burning the bodies and giving the ashes to Satan.

The story begins with Will Cannon on the trail of the Blackman Gang and he is attacked by a bushwacker. Will finds some papers on the bushwacker that indicates that Blackman has put a 10,000 dollar bounty on his head. Will goes to the small Texas town of Estilline and gets his friend, Texas Ranger Duke Wills, to join the hunt for the Blackman Gang. Will also meets a beautiful young woman in Estilline that has been victimized by the Blackman Gang.

Volume 3 of The Adventures of Keith and Larry has more stories about the two young boys growing up in a small town in south Texas in the mid-1950s. The Black kids come to the school for the first time and the relationship between the boys and their girlfriends and play-wives becomes more serious. There are problems and hardships but the boy's friendship endures and even becomes stronger.

The Hell Riders is a group of young men from the Hell Roaring River Valley in Utah fighting a gang of outlaws who are trying to take over the valley.
